Merry Christmas and Happiest of Holidays to all

Just wanted to take a moment and share my prayers of best wishes for you and your families today.  I hope that the upcoming year brings you all health and happiness and joy.

Here are just a few pictures of the decorations I made and put up this year.  I was so inspired by the wonderfully talented ladies and gentlemen on youtube and all the art they share.

Hope you enjoy and again...best wishes and all joy to you and your family!
The picture above is of the hurricane candleholder that sits on our buffet..but I dressed it up for the holidays with lots of ribbons and "sugared" fruits.

This is the top of our tree.  I just love the addition of the turquoise color to our traditional Christmas colors.
Here are some candles that have greenery and blinged out buttons added to give them a more holiday spirit.

These are the two reindeer we have on either side of our fireplace mantel.  The turquoise tree above ws made with a paper mache tree, sprayed with Lindy's Stamp Gang and then covered with filigrees, rhinestones, buttons and jewelry pieces.  I love how it came out.  I was inspired by the beautiful trees I saw on ArtfullyMusings blog.  She is so incredibly talented.

The paper boxes below were on sale at Michaels and I couldn't resist.  I had so much fun adding ribbons and lots of nuts and berries, fruits and balls to them...just perfect for adding a dramatic touch to "fill in" an empty corner.

I used some of my favorite beads and crystals and made sparkly drops for candles and lamp pulls.  So easy and such an elegant touch...

Below is a 12" by 12" mosaic I made last year, following a simple tutorial I saw on youtube.  It has turned into one of my favorite pieces.  Just imagine what you could do with your favorite bits and baubles.

I know, I know...it's probably so old fashioned, but I just love birds.  And this glittery pair look just too too sweet perched on my desk...and when the candles are lit...they glisten and sparkle...just love 'em...

Well, again...happy holidays to you and yours.  And may all your days be merry and bright.  Here's to a joyous new year for us all!

Have fun creating!
Molly

Masculine Mini with a "Russian" flair...

Just wanted to share a little mini album I've made for my son.  He and his beautiful bride are talking of going to Russian for a vacation trip...yep, I'm scared to pieces, but anywho...made this mini for him as a keepsake.  Hope you enjoy!

Found this old faux leather book box I had gotten from Michaels years ago and decided it would make the perfect home for a travel journal mini for my son.  He has been talking of vacationing to Russia and it seemed just the perfect inspiration.

Well I hope you enjoyed!  Have fun creating1

New layout with 75 Cents Collection

I just fell in love with the 75 Cent collection from Kaisercraft.  The soft blues, vintage graphics and designs...just made for me!  It was so fun creating this two page spread with this gorgeous paper line and some yummy embellishments I got from MBTreasurista's.  Now here's the exciting part!

As part of Misty's design team, she gave me a code I can share with you, so you can get an extra 10% off your purchase from her shop!!!!! Yep, that's an extra 10% off her already great prices!    Just use MOLLY10 and get your extra savings...on laces, Lindy's Stamp Gang, G45, Prima, gorgeous embellies...and loads more.  Now that's exciting!

In this shot you can hopefully see the glassine bag I used to hold the journaling tags I made.  The beautiful pearl trim, the gold Chinese braid, the paper line and glassine bag all came from Misty's store!

These pretty and vintage looking ruffled ribbon flowers were made with the beautiful trims Misty carries in so many colors and of course that stunning acrylic flower also can be found at MBTreasurista's .

This beautiful art deco button and all the gorgeous metal accents were from my stash, but I loved how they added such rich texture and added to the vintage flavor.  Sigh, yep I love vintage...
I'm sorry my pictures aren't doing this beautiful paper line justice, the colors are so rich.  But be sure and drop by Misty's shop:  mbtreasurista's, be sure to use the discount code:  MOLLY10 and have fun creating your own favorite layouts.

Hugs and have fun!

Beach Embellishments for Creatingthecraftylife Swap

What a fun swap! Deb, at creatingthecraftylife, had us create 3 flowers, 3 stickpins and 1 other embellishment of our choice, all in a beach theme.  I had so much fun working with my favorite shades of blues and sea glass greens...and oh the textures.
For the stickpin tag, I used an embossing folder that looked like netting to me, and then randomly stamped with my versamark pad, and used Lindy's Stamp Gang two tone embossing powders in one of her golden shades.  I love how the tag has a sundrench sandy beach look to it.    Did you notice one of the beads in the center stickpin is a gorgeous shell....love it...
Soft natural domestic was the inspiration for the first large flower. I embossed an old button with Lindy's two tone embossing powder and glued in a mound of beads to look like sea glass and beach shells. For the top flower,  I found an old decorator sham I had in the softest shade of seafoam blue/green. And last but certainly not least, the middle flower was made with a beautiful fabric I found at Joanns.  It sparkles with hints of gold threads and has an open weave texture that looks like the lightest of summer gauze.

The little something extra embellishment I came up with was using a Wilton Fondant Icing mold with oven dry clay.  I painted them with pearlescent paints and then a light coat of Martha Stewart glitter paint to give it that sun drenched look.  I attached them to the tag I made, sprayed with lots of Lindy's stamp gang 2 two sprays, with removeable glue dots, so they could use both the tag and the embellies without damaging either.  Did I mention how much I love love love Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays!!! You would not believe how gorgeous that piece of chipboard looks after spraying...
Sure hope my swap partners like them...

Have fun crafting,
Molly

Okay Santa...what's a Girl Gotta Do

Well the new Fall / Holiday lines are out.  CHA Summer 2013 has come and gone.  And I am in love with some of the new Scrappy Happy lines that have been launched...

So Santa, if you are listening, here is just a small small preview of what I want for Christmas, or my Anniversary, oh and Birthday....just please please please drop these down my chimney any time....

This is one of my favorites..Graphic 45's Typography line.  The colors are vibrant, strong and so artistic.  And the card with the cat, I mean really, I cannot wait to get my hands on it...  Just go to Your Scrapbooks Supply's G45 preview to take a closer look at the whole line.

Next on my list... My Mind's Eye's Vintage Christmas. I know, I know I have enough holiday and
Christmas papers to more than last a lifetime...but this, oh this line is so beautiful...

The vintage Santa's, rich flourishes and damask prints... I just cannot help myself.  I need every embellishment and most of the papers.  Here's the link to Rhonda's Sneak Peek of this beautiful line.

Third...must haves...Prima of course.  Their new Chalkboard and Wood embellishment lines will definitely be in my "fall must have" hoard vault.  I did say hoard vault...I just hope I can get up the spark of courage to actually cut into these gorgeous lines and use the incredible wooden pieces.

Oh gosh golly, these are just perfect for fall and holiday layouts.  I can almost smell the turkey and oyster dressing in the oven, and see the sparkling fall arrangement on the table, candles glowing.... family gathered around... oh for heaven's sake...hurry and get these beauties in the store...

Just click Here and get a close up look at yourscrapbooksupplies sneak peek to all that is glorious this fall from Prima.  Rhonda has links on the right of her page to most all of the fall lines for your pleasure.  But be careful...I have spent hours and hours just dreaming over these beautiful new offerings.  Now I have to break away and try to actually get some crafting done...

Have fun crafting...and being inspired
