New layout with 75 Cents Collection

I just fell in love with the 75 Cent collection from Kaisercraft.  The soft blues, vintage graphics and designs...just made for me!  It was so fun creating this two page spread with this gorgeous paper line and some yummy embellishments I got from MBTreasurista's.  Now here's the exciting part!

As part of Misty's design team, she gave me a code I can share with you, so you can get an extra 10% off your purchase from her shop!!!!! Yep, that's an extra 10% off her already great prices!    Just use MOLLY10 and get your extra savings...on laces, Lindy's Stamp Gang, G45, Prima, gorgeous embellies...and loads more.  Now that's exciting!

In this shot you can hopefully see the glassine bag I used to hold the journaling tags I made.  The beautiful pearl trim, the gold Chinese braid, the paper line and glassine bag all came from Misty's store!

These pretty and vintage looking ruffled ribbon flowers were made with the beautiful trims Misty carries in so many colors and of course that stunning acrylic flower also can be found at MBTreasurista's .

This beautiful art deco button and all the gorgeous metal accents were from my stash, but I loved how they added such rich texture and added to the vintage flavor.  Sigh, yep I love vintage...
I'm sorry my pictures aren't doing this beautiful paper line justice, the colors are so rich.  But be sure and drop by Misty's shop:  mbtreasurista's, be sure to use the discount code:  MOLLY10 and have fun creating your own favorite layouts.

Beach Embellishments for Creatingthecraftylife Swap

What a fun swap! Deb, at creatingthecraftylife, had us create 3 flowers, 3 stickpins and 1 other embellishment of our choice, all in a beach theme.  I had so much fun working with my favorite shades of blues and sea glass greens...and oh the textures.
For the stickpin tag, I used an embossing folder that looked like netting to me, and then randomly stamped with my versamark pad, and used Lindy's Stamp Gang two tone embossing powders in one of her golden shades.  I love how the tag has a sundrench sandy beach look to it.    Did you notice one of the beads in the center stickpin is a gorgeous shell....love it...
Soft natural domestic was the inspiration for the first large flower. I embossed an old button with Lindy's two tone embossing powder and glued in a mound of beads to look like sea glass and beach shells. For the top flower,  I found an old decorator sham I had in the softest shade of seafoam blue/green. And last but certainly not least, the middle flower was made with a beautiful fabric I found at Joanns.  It sparkles with hints of gold threads and has an open weave texture that looks like the lightest of summer gauze.

The little something extra embellishment I came up with was using a Wilton Fondant Icing mold with oven dry clay.  I painted them with pearlescent paints and then a light coat of Martha Stewart glitter paint to give it that sun drenched look.  I attached them to the tag I made, sprayed with lots of Lindy's stamp gang 2 two sprays, with removeable glue dots, so they could use both the tag and the embellies without damaging either.  Did I mention how much I love love love Lindy's Stamp Gang sprays!!! You would not believe how gorgeous that piece of chipboard looks after spraying...
Sure hope my swap partners like them...

Have fun crafting,
Molly

Life's little pleasures

It's a cloudy Sunday morning. Cooler than it has been.  I grabbed my camera to capture some of the little snippets of beauty I was seeing around me.

When I say snippets...it's because I didn't want to capture the whole scene on my deck.  It needs sweeping a little, the weeds need pulling, the bird bath needs to be cleaned.  But right now, at this moment, with the day ahead, ripe with possibilites, all I noticed, all I wanted to see, were these beautiful flowers.  Blessing my life with color and inspiration.

So, it's probably a certainty.  I won't weed, or sweep or clean.  But I do hope to do something creative today.  Something with color and texture.  Something I consider beautiful...

But for now, I am so content to soak in this glorious morning, finish my chocolate milk and then, before the heat takes over....go in and create...play with color...and try to capture the joyous feel of the bright summer flowers.  Oh yes, and remember to say thank you Lord for sharing this wonderful morning with me...it is a gift.  Thank you...

Now ya'll all go create something beautiful today.  If nothing else, mine will be this memory of this happy moment.  Have fun!

Molly

My "1 to 10" Layout for Gina"s Challenge

Have you stopped into myscraproom yet?  ...no, not my scraproom... Gina's wonderful ning site for crafters.  Gina, a very gifted and ubber nice crafter, host challenges at least every two weeks.  Challenges to stretch your imagination and talent...And you can win prizes!  How great is that?

Well anywho, I finally jumped in and joined one of her fun challenges...It was her "1 to 10" Challenge.  Create anything you'd like, but...you had to include certain items in certain quantities...like 10 flowers, 9 letters, 8 pieces bling, 7 leaves, 6 stamped images...down to one chevron element.  Whew...now that was a challenge for me...

This is the 12 x 12 layout I came up with to showcase all of Gina's must have crafty ingredients.

The metal pieces, corners and butterflies, are from Monique' wonderful shop:
Butterbeescraps

She carries the most wonderful and affordable metal embellishments.  I painted these white with just a little gesso to add to the shabby chic look.

The flowers are ten beauties pulled from my stash.  From Recollections to Prima and more, but the beautiful large flower in the center is from my friend, Sue.  It just helps bring even more beauty and sentiment to this layout for me.  I did softly brush the tips of some of the flowers with gesso as well.

So another thank you to Gina, for inspiring me to create this layout.  And a heartfelt thank you to you...for taking your time to join me...

Now go on...go visit Gina's little crafty corner...MyScrapRoom.

Have fun crafting...

My "Shades of Blue" Candy Station

I admit it...I am definitely a follower.  Or as prefer to say, I am moved to create from things I am inspired by....sounds better doesn't it.  Well Laura, of TheRobnLaura channel on youtube, has this most magnificent milk glass "candy station" for all our her most precious scrapbooking goodies. Beautiful pieces, overflowing with rhinestone buttons, laces and trims to die for....all of  it is truly beautiful, but I have not had any luck finding milk glass near me, soooooo

I turned to my favorite glass...anything in shades of blue....and got busy.  Every outting, I had my eyes open to find pretty blue bowls and plates, candleholders...things I could use to mimic Laura's beautiful creation...  I spent hours on line looking for rhinestone buttons.  I never knew I needed rhinestone buttons, till I saw Laura's video. Now I have the beginnings of a sparkling bowl full of the most gorgeous buttons... and will only have to work about a decade more to afford them....lol.

But at least a third of my craft table is now taken over and I am so happy with how it came out...

Laura also shared how she displays her laces wrapped onto beautiful silver knives...what a treasure trove.  But again, I tried something a little different and embellished tags I made and voila, my own lace treasure chests.

So now when I sit down to craft, I am surrounded by some of my very favorite things...buttons, metal pieces, embroidery, ribbons, charms, bling and more buttons.  Thank you Laura for sharing your gorgeous creative space with us.

It may be a little much for a lot of people...but for me, it is my scrappy happy place...where I can see the wonderful crafts I have recieved in swaps,  incredible tags and flowers from Linda, charms and treasures from Olga and Marlene, dangles from Pat and Hannah and dozens of other talented crafters from around the world and soft sumptious crochet flowers from Cheryl and my oh so pretty hoard of treasures everytime I walk in and sit down, just waiting to inspire me.

So I am wishing all of you a place where you can truly feel inspired and have fun creating...and to Laura...a very very special thank you!

Hugs,
Molly D

A Card Making Frenzy...enjoy!

I have been watching some incredible videos on card making.  Even joined a wonderful card making swap on a great ning site...myscraproom.   The swap was to make some fun summer cards and I enjoyed that, but that just wet my appetite for making more.

Well I broke out some of my Anna Griffin papers and embellies from one of her card making kits and got to work, hoping to make a "couple" of cards...17 cards later, I finally was able to break away!  I know, I know, I am addicted to Anna Griffins papers and flowers, but really,   aren't they so pretty...

The ribbons I used on the cards are from a wonderful etsy shop: abbyandellie.  They just add such a wonderful soft fairytale touch to anything.  I just love them...

I know it's another of my addictions...but they are gorgeous!

On this card I used some beautiful organza ribbon form Michaels and some sweet crocheted lace I had in my stash.

Add a few mini roses and sprinkle with some ice crystal glitter and oh my goodness, such a pretty card.

I loved the fresh combination of the yellow, green and pink on this card...again I added some of the soft seam binding ribbon.  It came out so cool and summery looking.

I am just so pleased with how easy and fast it was to make these pretty cards...

I used two beautiful bead caps to embellish this lovely black, white and grey card.  Just put a dollop of hot glue on the paper and laid the bead cap down over it and voila...a very easy and oh so elegant looking embellishment!

Well, I hope you enjoyed seeing these pretty Anna Griffin cards...it sure was fun and so easy to make them.  Be sure and share your crafts with us...it's so fun to be inspired by everyone.

Thanks for stopping in and have fun crafting!

Matchbox Mini for a Swap!

Well, I don't usually, if ever make a mini under 6" x 6".  As a matter of fact, most of my "minis" are over 7" tall or wide.  So I never thought I would have so much fun making a mini just TWO inches wide!  But I did!

It is for a swap on Gina's wonderful ning site:  myscraproom.  And this swap was hosted by Lydia, whose yt channel is itripledogdareu.  So I just had to join!  Now in this swap we were suppose to decorate a large matchbox and make a little mini to go inside.  Sounds simple, right?  Well I pulled out the only matchbox we had in the house...and it was so old it was falling apart.  So off I go to Walgreens to buy a new one...sounds easy, right?  But when I got home with three new colors of nail polish and a bottle of wine, I knew I had to go back out for a matchbox.  So the next day, off to Walmart...and several ice cream desserts and another bottle of wine later, I got home with no matchbox...

So I decided to just make one out of lightweight chipboard and get going.  I used the beautiful "Lyric" papers from Prima o cover it and make the mini.  The requirements for the swap were to use lace, flowers and an image on the front.  The lace and flowers were a natural, but I had trouble covering the beautiful Prima papers, till I noticed a small snippet on my desk I had saved from a previous project... the words Gypsy Chick.  So I printed an oh so sweet image of a little girl gazing at a small chick and off I went.

The mini inside is only 2" wide and 4" tall. Not too many embellishments could go in or on it, because it had to fit in the matchbox, but the papers are so pretty, it didn't take much! I just love how it turned out.

Just a bit of lace here and there..some petite flowers and delicate metal filigrees and it came out just perfect. I sure hope Olga, my swap partner likes it!

I want to give a special thanks to Gina of Scrappinology on youtube

and Lydia of ItripledogdareU on youtube

for hosting this swap. I can't wait for the next one!

I'm posting my youtube video below.
Have fun scrapping!

Anna Griffin Haul..it's official...I'm an Anna hoarder...

Okay, it's official...I am an Anna Griffin hoarder.  It started years ago...but was recently raised to new heights when I got an email from Anna's blog or facebook or somewhere, telling me about an upcoming BIG BIG SALE...  Well, of course I set my alarm clock and was there to "just take a look, a quick peak" at the sale.  But nooooo, Anna's website was so overcrowded with like minded fanatics, that the whole site crashed!  Yep, it looked like the gods of sanity had prevailed and were going to keep me from myself and from buying.  But despite the notices from Anna's site and facebook posting, I managed to get in...and of course because now my adrenaline was really pumping and I felt like a "winner" just for making it into the site, I bought to my hearts content...

And what does a woman do with all that Anna Griffin?  Well here are a few of the projects I made for this year...two calendars.  One is made with Anna's card and envelope kits and one is a large top flip chipboard calendar, both of which I just love having on my desks.
I know I have shown these before, but here's June and May pages, just to show, I really do use some of my AG papers...
I just love taking out the next months pages and finding the perfect picture, old of new (see the June calendar below is waiting for a picture we will take on Dad's Day of my hubby and son...

In addition to the fabulous albums and kits I bought, there were two "sticker collections" that came in a cute "book like" holder that inspired me.  So I pulled out some beautiful Pink Paislee papers...I know, why not Anna, you ask?  But anyway, following are pictures of the little book I quickly put together and made a youtube tutorial for...

Above is the booklet closed and below is a photo of it opened. It measures 5" wide by 7" tall and 1.5" deep.  So easy, and I can just see making a baby brag book or quick holiday card kit or mini to give... Hope you enjoy and now I have to go see about adding on a new room to the house, for all my new Anna Griffin of course...teeheehee....

Here's the youtube video, if you want to take a peak...hope you enjoy...
Have fun crafting...
