Merry Christmas and Happiest of Holidays to you and yours!

Here's my latest two holiday videos.  I am having so much fun crafting lately.  Tonight, I was sitting in front of our tree, sipping eggnog (yes, it was spiked with wonderful brandy and rum) and just having fun crafting. So I took a minute and made some quick videos and thought you might enjoy...

The first one is made from a box I got my Bare Minerals makeup in.  It just looked like the perfect showcase for my Anna Griffin papers and embellies I had out.

The second video are some
Snowflake ornaments I made after being inspired
by my youtube friend Sue...
Here's a link to her video:
Snowflake Ornaments by Sue

I used my Cricut Explore machine and Anna Griffin images to make these
giant snowflakes.  Just love how
they turned out!

Hope you all are having a safe, happy and fun filled holidays! Blessings to you and yours!

Blessed so much more than I deserve

Well, I want to wish everyone a very happy Thanksgiving!  I recently had a party for a few of my dear scrapbooking friends and it was wonderful.  The theme I chose for this year's party was "Blessed Beyond Measure".  I feel so blessed everyday, and just wanted to share that sentiment with my friends.

The picture above is just a little piece of wall art I made for the season.  It all started with a frame I bought from a garage sale for $1.  Yep, one dollar.  Then I just covered the art in the middle with a piece of 12 x 12 scrapbook paper from K and Company, from the very old Alleghany Plum collection that I have been hoarding.   The sentiment added on top was something I "scraplifted" and recreated on my computer on photoshop.  It just said it so much better than I could.  "Thank you God for blessing me so much more than I deserve. "

This second picture is another seasonal piece I made from a second frame from a garage sale.  Covered the background with some very bright orange embossed wrapping paper, then just used more K and Company papers to make the panels.  Again, the sentiment was something I created using photoshop on my computer

A dear friend even helped me create a layout for each of the ladies to create that helped celebrate the season too...

Of course the house was decorated for Thanksgiving and fall, but we celebrated Christmas as well by making some very pretty Tussie Mussies.  The ladies really outdid themselves with all their creative skills and every one was so unique and so beautiful And it was just too much fun watching them "playing" at making their own.  Here's just a few of the ladies with their gorgeous creations!

I want to thank all these dear friends for their kindness and generosity.  We had a truly wonderful time!  And the food, oh my gosh golly, the food that night was outstanding.  So I hope each and every one of you and your families have a very wonderful and blessed Thanksgiving.  And I just pray you all have as much fun as we did!  I am so looking forward to our family celebration now!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all
Hugs, Molly

Feeling like Autumn and it's Glorious

Well it's a Glorious Fall day here in southwest Louisiana.  The morning was a cool 69 degrees.  My wonderful husband and I enjoyed coffee on the deck, then I was treated to some of his incredible banana and pecan pancakes with a side of bacon.  Now does a morning get better than that?

I had already begun decorating for fall.  Anxiously anticipating the cooler days, but never expected to feel the crisp air so early in the season.  I wanted to share the pictures above of a little of the decorating I have done so far. The beautiful crackled glass and glazed pumpkins are from Tuesday morning.  The gorgeous fall foliage is from Hobby Lobby.  And imagine how excited I was to find the vibrant golden orchids at Marshalls.  The rest of my tablescape are pieces I have collected over the years.  Just wanted to share a little bit of fall with ya'll.   Hope you are having a glorious day too!

Lace Tussie Mussie Challenge Entry

Sweet, wonderful Lele, from Shabbylishious, had a Tussie Mussie Challenge on her facebook group page:
Lele's Facebook Group link here.

I don't enter many challenges.  Not in love with the pressure of deadlines, but I could not resist entering this challenge.  So lucky for me a friend dropped by, just a few days before the deadline and showed my a quick and easy way to make the cone and that was all it took to get me out of the creative tussie mussie slump I was in .  Thank you Ann!  You were my lifesaver.

So anywho, here are some pictures of the tussie I created. Hope you enjoy, and try making one yourself! Perfect idea for upcoming Christmas tree ....hmmm
Better get busy...lol

More Scrapbook Layouts including Christmas in July

Used a very old Webster's Pages die cut, split in two
to create this page. Mixed background papers
from k and company and Prima.  I just love coordinating
paper lines to create a more unique look.
The scroll work die cut and saying are from Anna Griffin.
 Other dies are from Spellbinders.

Well, I have been enjoying digging thru my scrapbook stash and rediscovering some wonderful papers and embellies, that I love just as much now as when I first bought them.

The "digging" started because I needed to organize some "page kits" for myself to take to a regional crop that I will be attending in mid - July!  What I discovered was I have enough of most of  these beautiful things to make extra page kits I will make to sell soon.  But in the mean time here are some of the pages I made with my newly rediscovered stash....

This is the Annalee line from Prima.  Of course the Anna Griffin die cut flowers and sayings mix so well.  Then I just layered in more flowers from Prima and Wild Orchid Crafts and others.

Of course the bulk of ingredients for these layouts are things from Anna Griffin, Prima and Websters pages.  I have to admit the dies I have from Anna Griffin and Marianne are some of my all time favorite tools too.  And after I spent one full day reorganizing my papers...I realized I have too much of everything....but definitely know that my real compulsions were those three lines, oh and of course Graphic 45 and k and company and Basic Grey and....

Well you get the idea.  I am a happy scrapaholic.  Let me know what you think of this latest assortment of layouts.
This is one of my favorite older collections from Anna Griffin.  So bright and perfect for summer. The word "dream" is just a little stamp I used to stamp directly onto the ribbon.

Wouldn't you think I would be tired of Anna's papers by now.  Never!  And I still have hundreds more!  The center pieces of this were embossed with her new 12" embossing folders and the intricate white border is from Anna as well.  Did you notice the little white doily corner peeking out?  It's from Marianne's Dies.  I love it!

Christmas in July!  These two layouts are made with more papers from Anna Griffin and then embellished with some of the layering die cuts I bought .  The titles?  Yep, from Anna's Christmas Cricut cartridge.

Well I had to end with a bright and "play"ful layout.  I know, I know enough with the Anna Griffin already, huh?  But I love what I love.  Now I hope you are having fun creating!

Hugs,
Molly

Make your own Sunshine

Well it's a beautiful Sunday morning and I just finished a 12x12 layout, using some older Anna Griffin papers.  I have bought pounds and pounds of Anna Griffin papers and embellishments, mostly from HSN, and decided this past few weeks to break into them more often and get some layouts done.

The little title tag I made, "Make your own Sunshine" is one of Anna's adhesive vellum stickers.  I just love the designs and colors.  But more...I love the sentiment....  Well I hope you enjoy and are having a wonderful day yourself.

Thanks for stopping by!
have fun crafting
hugs,
Molly

Tag Making Frenzy

Darn that Pinterest!
I was just minding my own business...browsing and wasting time on my new favorite site...when Wham!  I saw some of the most creative tags.

So of course I had to go into overdrive making tags.  Come to think of it it really started when I was so excited to begin learning how to watercolor from an gifted friend, Terri.  She was generous enough to meet me at our local Michaels and got me hooked on learning to play with watercoloring.  I spent the first "lesson" just learning how to mix colors and the different types of applications...and learned I really love "wet on wet" application of colors.

So I had all these beautiful papers that I created, not that I made them beautiful...it was just the magic of watercolors...anywho...I decided to cut them into tag sizes and get busy using them as background papers.  So here's what came from that wonderful day!

Of course I used several great trims and ribbons and buttons and flowers and stickers and die cuts and embosssing powders,  even sea shells from my stash.  But that was half the fun... trying to make a dent in the way too much to use up in this lifetime stash ....lololol.

I know what you may be thinking ...these backgrounds look a lot like what you could do with Tim Holtz Distress pads.  Maybe so, but remember I was learning how to control and mix watercolors...  something I have been wanting to do my whole life.  The colors you can create ...omgosh golly, it is truly magical.  And learning something new, something that you only can try to control...knowing all the while that mother nature and the properties of water have just as much control as you do...well it was just so freeing...

Whew...may have gotta a little too absorbed there. But I love watercolors, the softness, how subtle it can be...the appearance of something so fluid and yet so commanding and yet calm.  Okay enough about that...

On one of the tags,  I used the Tim Holtz Globe die cut and Lindys Stamp Gang Sprays and and a Patina two toned embossing powder I have had in my stash for years.  Saw a tag on Pinterest, yep that's the one that started this whole mess.

Well hope you enjoy.  Thank you for stopping by. I am going to pin these on Pinterest as well...so please head over there and share if you'd like...

Thanks again and have fun crafting!
hugs,
 Molly

Hello there!  Hope you all are having a wonderful time crafting.  I have been playing and creating some 12 x 12 inch layouts.  So dark and rich in colors and design, I just love this Prima collection... Stationer's Desk.

New happy happy beginnings

This was a post I found on Pinterest...and it sung to me.  I have made a big big change in my life and feel so free...free to explore, create, sing, dance, what ever sets my heart on fire!

After decades of working, long long hours, I have retired from working outside the home.  This is a big big step for me and it took a huge heartfelt push from my husband, but it is wonderful!  Now I have been home for over two weeks and have logged about 1000 hours on Pinterest and Youtube.  Soaking in the boundless inspiration...listening to my heart start to sing...  so this is happy!  So far, so good....lolololol.

But here's hoping I can "unplug" just long enough to create...to play...to paint...to just have fun, to create what sets my heart on fire!  Wish me luck and please share all your creative ideas...this is gonna be fun!

Big hugs to you all
Molly

Vintage Lace Keepsake Mini Book

It was thrilling for me to play in my mother's century old stash of laces.  Yep, her stash included laces from her mother and grandmother and my favorite aunt.  All these incredibly talented crafters are in heaven now, but they passed on the love of fabrics and laces and ribbons and buttons to me.  And my sweet mom let me pick out some of my favorites from her incredible "stash" and take them home with me.

I couldn't wait to make a lace book like I had seen on other talented crafter's youtube channel.  But I couldn't help but think of how teaching and sharing crafting secrets has changed since my great grandmother and her daughters and sisters got together at quilting and embroidery  bees and shared there crafting talents with each other, passing on these gifts to future generations...   Now, I sit with my cup of coffee or glass of coke and just spend hours with talented crafters like:

Gladys at HeartofaGippsy on youtube
Lydia at Itripledogdareu on youtube
Chrissie at chrissiecrosser on youtube
Olga at madstamper64
Cheryl at delygirl1961 on youtube
Marlene at 4marlene1  ( the absolute queen of shabby chic in my opinion)
and so many many more

So here's a warm heartfelt thank you to all these wonderful crafters, past and present, who share their talents and warm family stories with us.  Salute!!!

hugs and have fun crafting,

Making "Wildflowers" from paper roses...

I love all the paper roses I have "stashed away" in the old hoard vault...but find I don't use them as much as I should.  Often, I find the are two "lumpy" for my scrapbook pages or the cards I want to send.  Hmmm....so I decided to tear them apart and use some of the wonderful stamen I have been hoarding as well...to make them look more like the expensive Prima flowers I love so much, and not so rose repetitious.....

Here are a few of the cards I made using this easy technique ( I put the video tutorial below the pictures if you want to know how I made them):

These three cuties are some extras  I will be using on upcoming projects!  Just love the soft effect the stamens give.

Here's the link to a video I did for this technique:

Hope you enjoy and share the projects you do, if you decide to use this technique.  Have fun crafty!
